Hi all,

although we have a very warm wind from Africa currently, the ski season will officially open soon here in Austria.

For the last few years I did not do much skiing, but for this season I'll go and get some new skis. My girlfriend will do so as well and we hope to have some nice ski weekends together with our daughter.

I plan to try one of these "Snowblades" (they are very short skis, around 1m length) for this season. They look very interesting and I hope to have much fun with them.

Hi all,

One and a half years ago I signed up for Shutterstock. This is a site where you can sign up for free and which sells the photos which you upload.

So I uploaded some photos and - of course - completely forgot about them. Today I saw a link to shutterstock somewhere and remembered my account with them. And ... surprise ... in the meantime I made some real money selling photos :-D.

That definitely motivates me to update my photos which I have uploaded with them.

The photo which you can see in this entry (Las Vegas, 2002) is the one which has been bought most - 63 times!

Hi there!

So this is my first post to my new blog at my new website. Why a new website? It all started many years ago when I run a huge Star Trek fansite, some of it can still be accessed through the Internet Archive.

Then I started studying and working and from then on my websites got simpler, because my free time got less ... . So the next website was much simpler and I started to focus on easy maintainence:

Of course, this was still too much and got hopelessly out of date at some time, so I tried yet another approach, where the site consisted of a simple blog and a link to my photo gallery.

This was much better, and this version can be seen as in improvement to this approach. I'm now using the google blogger service for blogging and flickr for my photos.

The aim of all this is of course to have a nice web presence with the least maintainance efforts possible ;-)

Oh...and btw, that photo is me at the chinese wall, taken earlier this month :-).
